Thanks for stopping by and checking out some of my ideas for guiding students to greatness in Grade 3/4!

I am a busy teacher (like all of us) who is constantly trying to balance family and work (like most of us)!

I teach ELA, Social Studies and Phys. Ed. to a busy group of Grade 3 an 4 students. I love my job and couldn't imagine doing anything else!

I hope that you find some ideas here to use in your own classroom!

Writing Prompts

Does anyone else get tired of the following conversation?

"Alright Grade 3/4 (or insert grade here)! Time to get out your writing books."

"But Mrs. Klassen, I don't know what to write about..."

When I give my students independent writing time, I usually have a plan for myself (to pull a small group, to do a quick assessment, etc) and it is hard to be constantly interrupted by that same student who is stuck.

So, I have created a pack of writing prompts to get my students started when they are stuck. I also plan to use them for whole group writing prompts at times. I made them so that they are ready to print on address labels, which made it easy for me to print, stick on cardstock and laminate.

Here's a sample of my finished product. I am hoping that they will be the solution that I am looking for!
